the daily disciple - 2007

Most of my preaching on Sunday mornings at MoSt Church in 2006 was focused on what Jesus said about following him. In 2007, I’ll focus on what Paul looked like as a follower of Jesus - a bit of “show and tell” in reverse order, you might say. As we overhear Paul talk about his own life and experience as a follower of Jesus, I believe we’ll be called and challenged to grow as a true follower of Jesus ourselves. And that’s precisely where this blog comes into play.

Throughout the course of 2007, I intend to make daily posts that will work through, in a devotional sort of way, all of Paul’s letters. Some of the posts will no doubt appear on my main blog, but this blog here will be my 2007 devotional blog. It will be a good place to keep up with MoSt Church’s daily Bible reading along with catching a few personal observations on the day’s text. The average post’s length will be about the length of this post - bite-size, if you please. And unlike my main blog, the “Comment” section will turned “on” here so do feel free to share your thoughts on the day’s Scripture reading and/or my devotional thoughts. Posting will begin around the first of January 2007.

And about the picture in this blog’s header - let it remind you daily of a statement Paul made in 1 Cor.15:31 that gives us a bit of penetrating insight into his beliefs and experiences - “I face death every day …”

Do buzz by daily, won’t you?
